What are Weepers?
Weepers are unfortunate beings that are infected with the Weeping Willow Syndrome (or WWS). This illness causes rapid growth of plant substrate, often along the skin and in many cases, the eyes or around the eyes. Weepers often retain their memories and appearance under the growth, however they can become aggressive to healthy beings if they do not keep their illness under control and medicated.
Weepers are highly contagious and any interaction with them can cause immediate sickness. Not all Weepers are aggressive, however, but when they are afflicted with the loss of sight it may cause many to panic when approached. They spend much of their time basking in sunlight or water and are often mistaken as part of the scenery. The growth covering a severely sick Weeper can range from many different plants. Some do remove the vegetation on their skin, however, if the growth reaches the eyes blindness is unavoidable (Unless they seek the help of medical attention). Some Weepers bodies are even covered entirely of moss-like growth.
While the sickness is feared in poorer parts of the world, it is quite easy to manage the sickness in decent districts due to access to healthcare. Finding a cure on the other hand is a much harder endeavor...
The Weeping Willow Syndrome
This infection itself is not life-threatening, however many fear it's endemic behavior. Many who have caught WWS claim that they feel a closer connection to nature and the world around them. WWS causes a range of plant species growth, ranging from trees to flowers and even succulents. This infection is present in poorer populated districts.
