The King of Glass (Earth + Fire)

    • The King of Glass is a deity as old as time. As a ruler of the vast sands of Elyxium he is a ruthless demigod who ensures the fragile balance of fate. He is deemed the wisest of the demigods and can see one's fate and it's many branching possibilities. He can then manipulate their future if one has escaped their fated journey. The King of Glass may offer alternate paths to those who are lost, but one's final destination will always remain the same. The King does not meddle with the inevitable death of mortals, as he understands there is life past one's current form.

    • The Creation of Glass
A serpent sat upon a throne of sand, for sand is all he knew, isles of fake gold, an infinite kingdom of dunes. He longed for something different, something new. A kingdom of green, of lush and life. Hundreds of years passed, and hundreds more, yet the sands remain unchanged, but the world continued to grow without him. One fateful day a phoenix flew high over the horizon, as blinding as the sun as it colored the sky in shades of reds and oranges. The serpent had never seen such colours, his eyes glued to the artwork unfolding above him. A yearning grew in his core, oh how he longed to join the phoenix's dance, to create something entirely new in his kingdom of sand. He followed the phoenix's path, leaving trails through his dunes, snaking over the hot sand, attempting to join the being in the sky. If only he could reach that blue horizon. But the serpent refused to give in. He was obsessed with creating such a beautiful pattern as the phoenix's that he danced below for days until he could no more, his body collapsing upon his highest dune.  His eyes frozen to the skies, he was exhausted, unable to move. The phoenix noticed the serpent was no longer following and slowly approached the snake. "Serpent. Why have you traveled so far? Why leave your throne through these endless dunes?" The serpent's eyes watched the evolving skies, his body still. "I want to create something new. Like you, I want to dance with these colours and shapes. The sands here have never changed." The phoenix laughed as he stood upon the dune in his fiery glory, wings spread as he turned to the serpent's domain. "You have been so obsessed with my trail, have you not noticed the painting you have created yourself?" He hummed with a voice of silk, for his wings revealed expansive dunes of shapes, trails that were entirely new, entirely unique. "It is nothing I could ever create. This is your art, this is an extension of yourself. I have followed your trails as much as you have I." The phoenix gave a comforting smile, a talon held for the snake. "May we enjoy these creations together? Perhaps we can create something entirely new." No words were needed as they took to the skies, the serpent bathing in the warmth of fire, the phoenix's flames burning with an entirely new palette.
