Children of the Celestials

    Children of the Celestials or CC is a common religion found in Elyxium. The main belief system of this religion believes that all life lives in harmony. There can be no light without darkness to contrast it. There are no good memories without hard times. To represent this harmony, followers use the sun and mood as symbolism for this contrast. The sun can represent warmth, strength, hardships, life, and activity while the moon represents weakness, death, bravery, realization, and calmness/peace. Neither are considered less valued than the other as combined, each strength and weakness play a part in who we become. Those who have never faced hardships may have less strength than those who have. They share the belief that violence should only be used as a last resort and that all creatures share the same worth, despite how small they may seem.

    Practices
    In a religious sense, followers of this belief partake in many different ceremonies and practices to share and strengthen their faith. This can be towards the two gods, Sun and Moon, or towards the ideology they represent. 
    A popular practice in CC is to write your worries and stresses on a small piece of paper only using ink and sending it off in a body of water with a candle alongside in a bowl. Depending on the time of day results in which god will hear your worries. 
    It is also common to have a small amulet of either the sun and moon hanging from one's ear during times when the user needs courage or strength.
    Every year followers of this religion hold a week-long ceremony around Solstice to celebrate a rich and balanced life. 
    Eclipses are a very spiritual event for the followers of CC. It is the point where light and darkness become one to create a new spectacle. During this event, it is believed that the barrier between the afterlife and Elyxxium becomes the thinnest, making it possible to communicate with those who have passed.

 

Acolyte of the Sun

    Acolytes of the Sun are a prestigious group of followers from CC. One can only become an Acolyte through a rigorous test of faith. This test requires the follower to complete a week-long meditation under the sun. Only purified water can be consumed during this time.

    Those who have earned the title "Acolyte of the Sun" have a duty to share kindness and strength with those who may be struggling. It is also rumored that these Acolytes can possibly communicate to the sun in times of need. 

 

Acolyte of the Moon
